“Do not say a little in many words but a great deal in a few.”
The World Needs You More Than Ever
In a world inundated with media designed to tempt, you require an edge to get your message to register with your intended audience. We give you that edge with our unique approach to writing.
At Revival Writing, we unfold potential. We convert aspirations and ideas into impactful writing. No matter how profound an idea, if it is not communicated in the best light, it will fall on deaf ears.
Superior writing is more than a tool. It is an art. We create art by combining decades of practical writing experience with an artist’s intuition.
For Aristotle, the Greek word arete signified moral excellence. Excellence is a virtue.
At Revival Writing, virtuous writing is our goal.
Virtue must be practiced to remain viable. The same is true of writing. With over a decade of professional writing experience, Revival Writing delivers what you need.
About Jack Gist
In Wyoming, self-reliance is a reality, not an ideal. Growing up, I tended cattle, horses, and sheep through brutal winters and searing summers. It is not too much to claim that the rhythms of nature imprinted the God-given values that are with me to this day.
Our family lived in a small house on the prairie. Mountains loomed in the distance. During long winters, when I wasn’t able to spend as much time outdoors, I read whatever I could get my hands on. The works of William Faulkner, J.R.R. Tolkien, Louis L’Amour, Flannery O’Conner, and Zane Grey nourished my spirit. Simply put, I was blown away by the power of the written word.
Literature was my first love. It was in these books that I discovered that writing is not just a tool. In the right hands, it becomes an art.
After earning a B.A. in English from the University of Wyoming, I drove the Al-Can Highway in an old Chrysler New Yorker and and took an M.F.A. in Writing from the University of Alaska Fairbanks.
I have served as editor-in-chief at two publishing houses. I also served as Director of Professional Writing at Western Carolina University, as well as an editor for both literary and academic journals. These positions require effective copy. It fell to me to write and edit everything from press releases and catalog copy, to direct mail copy and blog posts.
As an award-winning author, I have published essays, poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction in a diverse array of journals such as the Superstition Review, The Imaginative Conservative, The Galway Review, Catholic World Report, Crisis, The New Oxford Review, St. Austin Review, and in numerous other national and international venues. I have three published novels and co-authored the philosophical/scientific treatise Angst and Evolution.
Take advantage of my decades of experience with professional and creative writing by putting it to work for you.
We are a small operation with high standards. The adage “you get what you pay for” holds true at Revival Writing. We will give you our best work.
I look forward to working with you. If you have questions, please send me an email. You have nothing to lose and much to gain!
